tony allain APANZ
"I still find every new picture exciting. I am never certain what course a painting will take, but one thing is certain it will give me a great deal of pleasure on the way. The more I discover, the more there is left to discover."

Tony has been painting for over thirty five years. He is a painter of light and movement, with a complete understanding of his surroundings.
Born and raised in the Channel Islands. Moved to paint and live with the "Painters of Light" in St. Ives in Cornwall before moving to Nelson, New Zealand. The subjects he chooses are varied, ranging from marine and landscapes, town and street scenes through to still life. His painting has a brisk impressionist style, which is suited to the use of pastels, although equally successful in oils.
Tony has exhibited extensively over the years, his work can be found in many leading New Zealand, London and provincial galleries as well as private and corporate collections, including the Maritime Museum Guernsey.
In 2004 received a commission for twelve paintings for the state rooms on board the "Queen Mary 2" the new flag ship for the Cunard Line.
He is an Artist Memeber of the Pastel Artists of New Zealand
He has exhibited with the Royal Society of Marine Artists in London.
His work is regularly featured in The Artist and Leisure Painter and the Pastel Journal. Publications include New Zealands Favourite Artists 2 by Dennis Robinson. Pratique Des Arts
